Experimental & Modelling Digital Twin Approach for Polymer Synthesis via Re‐initiated Oxygen inhibited RAFT Polymerization

Abstract Controlled polymerization techniques like the reversible‐addition fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) are sensitive to impurities such as oxygen. This work explores application of re‐initiation a tool enhance monomer conversion. A kinetic model for oxygen inhibited RAFT dispersion synthesis poly(4‐vinylpyridine)‐ b ‐polystyrene (P4VP‐ ‐PS) is developed. Thus, using model, partially (monomer conversion ≤10%) predicted. By implementing solution, P4VP‐ ‐PS copolymers with high (>96%) and good dispersity (≤1.2) enabled.
